January: Ro is 6 months old!

A lot of friends have asked how we came up with the Christmas card design.
Well, it seems logical to us; let me explain.

February 2007 Bruce came home with the bear on the right hand side in this picture.
It sings "That's Amore." It was a chef bear, which was what caught his eye.

The other bear came from the gift shop at Seton Hospital. He saw it when he went to buy Royanne an official "Born At Seton Medical Center" hat. Since it was a chef bear, and very similar to the other one, it went home with us.

One thing led to another and we undressed the bigger bear and put the clothes on Ro. Everything fit except the hat. We cut the brim to make it wider.

And that's how we came up the with picture for the Christmas card. :)

The message on the card ("We have increased our kitchen staff for the Holidays") took w-a-y longer to come up with.

New this month: trying out first solid food, sitting up unassisted, scooting and rolling under furniture, baths no longer given in the baby bathtub

MID JANUARY

Ro got the tee-shirt from Mimi for her
6th month birthday.

She has to help, has to have her own spoon.

Helping her stay upright.

SUCCESS!!

Mini sauna in the bathroom sink.

Loving Aunt Kay.

NEW TRICKS, LIKE SCOOTING......

When Liam (Kay's son) was a baby, he used to love to go under my couch.

Abby would scream with delight!

Now Royanne likes to do it.

I have had to remove her many times from under there!

Her first vegetable: GREEN PEAS

She likes it!

And she loves the clean up!

Christmas Season 2007

Probably Dad and Mom (that's me!) were more excited for Royanne's
first holiday than she was. We shopped for a Santa Suit.
Every time we went somewhere and the weather was the
least bit cool,
that's what she got to wear. (More of that accommodation that she's so good at!)

She was a big hit one day when we went to the mall. A lot of people were surprised - and then embarrassed - when we said we were not the grandparents. So far it is still slightly amusing when people think we are the grandparents.

I am sure one day it will become down right annoying!

Zzzzzzzooming through the mall, looking around and smiling.

Occasionally Ro indulged me and wore her hat at home.

One day she said she wanted to go to the mall and see this man they call Santa.

We stood in line and she was very patient.

She said, "This ain't so bad" and kicked back and
enjoyed the moment, smiling for the camera.

Then Santa began to tell her about the naughty and nice list.

She became confused about the rules and the fact some children received coal and she began to cry. She decided Santa was just too serious for such a little baby girl.

Mimi finds the neatest accessories!
(There are mittens to match!)

Daddy was feeling poorly after he threw out his back, so Royanne thought she'd give him a foot massage and possibly a quick lick. This could possibly ensure her a place on the "nice list".

Pre-Christmas Family Gathering

December 16, 2007

Sunday lunch at Uncle Roger and Aunt Marybeth's.
It was also Bruce's birthday.

During the opening of Christmas presents, Royanne latched on to one fine ribbon.

The oldest and youngest in the family, Great Grandma and Royanne.

Ro and cousin Amanda.

December 24, 2007 Christmas Eve

Mimi and Royanne.

Mimi had a super surprise! She made Abby and Royanne matching gowns and night hats, like from " Twas The Night Before Christmas "

Abby and Royanne in the gowns and night hats.

Abby telling Royanne her take on Santa Claus.

Discussing ways to stay on the "nice list".

Abby loves to hold Royanne and Royanne loves to be held!

Christmas Morning

Mimi was up to her tricks again. The gift card said:
"A house for your baby doll."

Royanne was excited to have Great Grandma there with her on Christmas Morning.

Royanne sporting the hat from an outfit from her Aunt Marsha & Uncle Bob.

Me and my baby doll.

The set included a hat, jacket and leggings. Paired with her red patent
leather shoes, what a styling baby!

Adorable monkey from Uncle Darrell & Aunt Tammy.

2007 Ends

I don't have enough minutes lately to do a post justice, but I want to give a fast update. More will follow ASAP.
Christmas was great with the baby. Her favorite thing (Marybeth was right!): RIBBONS! We stayed home Christmas morning and Ro's Great Grandma was here for several days. We went to mom's and Kay's later in the day. Bruce injured a disc and has a protrusion, so the holidays were slow and lazy. More later!
