A Smart One, That's What She Is.

Royanne was being held by Bruce when he
opened the cabinet to get the Pam
cooking spray. The lid was sitting cock-eyed
and she said "Ut-oh,....broke!"

She has been pushing that stool he made her
all over the kitchen when she pleases,
(so she can retrieve NO-NO things) & I now keep
it in the diningroom on the carpet (because she's
not yet strong enough to pull it off of the rug.
Sometimes it has to hide in the garage).
She knows it helps her reach the sink, or
whatever, because she stands on it.

So, last
night she wanted at the sink, so she stood on
a book. Today, she stood inside a
clothes basket. She has the right idea, just
the wrong item.....smart, smart.

Latest Play Date With Liam

Liam came over real early a week ago Friday, and he
wanted to wake Royanne up so bad! So, I set
the timer so he'd know when it was O.K. to do so.

She was so glad to see him! Sometimes she calls
him Abby. I think she thinks Abby and Liam are
a set, and they are called ABBY.

We planned a lot for the day; first we'd go
outside on the deck and ride a while, then we'd
play in the sandbox, then the water table.
Afterwards, we'd have lunch & then practice
our golf techniques and run through the
sprinkler, if it wasn't too windy.
(It wasn't so we did!)
When his clothes were drying,
they watched a video.

Silly boy!

Her bangs are getting so long, and they
poke her in the eyes.

This is Liam's way of picking up the baby.

Liam pretended to have a crash and fell off the
truck with much dramatization, and it
kind of scared Royanne, and she
almost started to cry.

Here it appears he is telling her that it
is all a game, and how to play it. When they
play together, he's talking a mile a minute,
explaining the details of their next adventure
as they pretend this or that. She listens even though
she doesn't understand everything he says.
When I told him she didn't really understand,
he said "Sure she does, she plays soldiers really good!"
Well, O.K., then!

Here Liam is moving in for the
crash.

This time she copies and plays along, but I am
sure she doesn't know what she's doing it for!

Belly crash.

Second crash. Liam is drama filled, Ro.....
........not so much!

Playing in the water. She was soaked!

Messing Around

Drinking from the turtle cup that goes with
her outside water play station. I keep on telling her
to not drink out of it, but she doesn't
always listen. Can you believe that!?

This was a morning she woke up early -
complete with her morning hair -
and wanted to go right outside, bypassing
breakfast. She wanted to see Gee-gee.
Gee-gee is her name for Gilligan.
Here she is hugging him.

She has discovered the grill and always
tries to turn the knobs.

Once inside and dressed, it seems it is
time to wash the dishes! She can push her
stool all over the kitchen - only hindered by an
occasional delay when the stool gets hung on
the grout.

She loves to play in the water.

Tickled beyond words!

Blow Up Elmo

One night when Royanne was eating dinner, her
daddy came home with a new Elmo! She recognized Elmo
right away! This was made by
a visiting balloon-artist to Bruce's restaurant,
and she was thrilled!

She wanted to get down so she could
properly hug Elmo!

The next day, Elmo was invited to eat with her.

He didn't eat his share. :)

She loves her Elmo!

Golfing With Daddy

I have pictures I cannot retrieve from the
video camera from the hospital stay, so,
meanwhile, I will catch up on other posts.

Royanne really likes playing with her daddy,
be it peek-a-boo, cooking, making scary and silly
faces. She especially likes to golf.

He whacked off a club club and attached a small
grip, just for her.

This day it was cool and windy.
Seems Vaseline didn't do the trick at
keeping a chapped face away.

Chasing the ball around the yard.

Learning the proper technique.

Fore!

Look at this piece of leaf!

Water Lover

Baths are long at our house!

Making Cupcakes

*
So, Bruce thought,
"The oven is on, why not make good use of it?"
and decided to make cupcakes, too.
They'd be without icing, because Royanne
isn't much for sugary stuff.

Stirring the dry ingredients.
She really loves the whisk!

Placing the paper liners in the muffin cups.
She also enjoyed letting some of them fall &
float to the ground!

She wanted to touch the batter.

Then she wanted to taste! Later, even without icing,

she only ate part

of one cupcake. Liam was over the next day &

he had four!

Making Cornbread Muffins

Bruce decided cornbread muffins would go good with
the bean soup, so he drug the stool in the
kitchen to the island, and together
they made the batter (the mess).

While he was gathering supplies, she
was trying to play in the cornmeal, so I
gave her a huge spatula to stir. That kept her
busy, momentarily.

Here she's using the whisk to whip the milk.
(Why? She thought it needed doing.)

Trying to load the cups. Incidentally,
she loaded the ones that weren't sprayed.
What a MESS that was, cleaning it.
(My job!)

She had a lot of fun.
That's the name of the game!

Sleep Overs & Birthdays

The first night Royanne and Abby had a sleep over
here, Bruce made them a tent, which was fine,
because Ro wasn't very mobile. Wouldn't dream of
doing that now!
Kay was having a garage sale and
Abby was expressing anxiety about pricetags on her
belongings, so she came over here the night before so
she didn't have to witness their departure.

Saturday morning cartoons. Royanne had never done
this before.

Must be reeeeeally interesting!

Abby calls Royanne her little sister.

Very few pictures turned out for Mimi's birthday.
She got another calendar full of Royanne pictures.
I hope she didn't mind!
Bruce made grilled chicken, porkloin and several
side dishes. His cream corn rivaled Rudy's,
Ryan & Bekki!
Kay and Craig brought icecream, lemon pound
cake with glaze and a cheese cake.
In our family, it is tradition to have Abby and Liam
help with the candles. I guess when Ro gets out of the
belted chair, there will be three little helpers.

Amanda tried for forever to get the three monkeys to do
HEAR NO EVIL
SEE NO EVIL
SPEAK NO EVIL

but one little monkey didn't want to
cooperate, so we finally nixed it, but we did get
this semi decent picture of the three of them.
Abby was wearing her Santa dress
"just one more time"

Let 'Em Eat...Anything! #2

Feeding The Dogs

Royanne really likes to feed the dogs in the morning.
One day maybe it can be HER job and not mine!

Depending on how low the food is in the bin, I let
her do it by herself, even though she drops
a lot. We just let Pokey come in and clean
up the pieces. He's getting fat again, too!

Sampling.........
Oh no!

Let 'Em Eat............Anything!

*
Royanne really likes to play in the kitchen.
When she and her daddy get together, there's
always a real big mess!
For some reason, this time, the two of them forgot to use
the handy stool we have, what grandma calls
the deer blind.

PANCAKES

Here she is beating eggs.

Such a happy little prep cook!

I just had to wipe up before the picture!
We ate pancakes and bacon soon afterwards.

TRICKY KIDDO

One night I gave Royanne peas, kidney beans and
apples for dinner. They are some of her favs.
After she ate that, she was going to be allowed to
have more FROZEN peas. But not until.
She had some food left and I wouldn't budge
on giving seconds on the peas.

As I busied myself at the sink, I thought she
was eating. I went to check on her and the kidney beans
were gone from her plate. As I praised her
success, I saw them hiding under the side of Elmo, who
was sitting on the table. (I moved him over
to take the picture.)

She started laughing and said "HIDING!"

HOTDOG SAUCE

First you take some Poupon mustard...
(she can say Poupon; it is soooo cute!)
...and then you....

.....get some relish......

.......some bottled red pepper, slightly spicy.....

....and then you mix.

Then you get to taste!
She liked it!

Finished product...might need more relish.

Begging for relish.

Loving it!

CHOCOLATE COOKIES

All gone.

CHIPOTLE RANCH DRESSING

Bruce made some homemade Ranch style
dressing and spiced it with dried chipotle
pepper. This time the stool was used and
she was stationary.

She dipped celery in it and used the celery as a tool,
and wasn't interested in chewing, just sucking!

She tried tomatoes and cucumber slices also.

Afterwards, she chipotle musta caught up with her.
She had to have a drink!

CORNFLAKES AND COW MILK

I can't get Royanne to drink milk, and if I cut it more
than 25% in her formula, she can tell!

She's always interested when I eat cereal, so I thought
I'd give her some and then she could develop
her taste for cow's milk.
Bottom up!

More, please!

Um....done!

MAKING TART LEMON COOKIES

Here Royanne is smelling the lemons after
they had the zest treatment.

Here she is studying the lemon's texture, changed
after the zest treatment.

Touching the actual lemon zest.

Very interested in the lemon zest!

Royanne was tasting the lemons after their
juice was removed.

WOW!

SOUR!

Looking at the recipe just like she would if she
was reading it. This was so cute! She was
imitating her daddy.

Measuring powdered sugar.

"What if we make this one instead....?"

Playing in the batter.....

.....tasting.....

....licking.....
*
THE END!
