We Had A Skunk On Our Property

The other day Bruce was in the driveway working
on something or other, when a skunk walked
right up the driveway!

The skunk was even brave enough to
go in the garage.

Then the skunk turned and ran up the sidewalk
to the front yard!

The skunk walked in the succulent
ground cover,

turning this way and that. Have you
ever seen a skunk laugh?
It's amazing!

Then the skunk went to the front patio, where
she tried this chair

and then another, seeing which was
best for launching.

Before I knew it, the skunk ran inside the
house, straight for the unbarricaded office.
(How did she know the gate was down?!)

She got on the web and took care of her skunk
business.

Soon, she was seizing the tool bench
for some much needed repairs.

She sat on the small couch - for comfort - and
a quick analyzing session of the much needed
skunk repairs.

Then she tried out the comfort level on the
bigger couch, and made note of its
launching capabilities.

Off like a shot, and down the hall......

...then back again....
snack, please!

Have you ever seen a skunk on
a playscape!

Contest

No pictures this post. Sorry!
Just wanted to let everyone know Royanne didn't win that
contest: she didn't get enough votes. Alot of you
stated that you were unable to follow the voting link
that the site gave in the email. I apologize for any annoyances.
I have a link at the top of the main page, under Likeable Links.
Be sure and check it out!

Liam Visits Again; Park Outing

Kay dropped Liam off so she could vote and
run a few errands. Again, he came in his pajamas!
Royanne was barely up, so they played and had
some breakfast.

How many days will it be before Royanne attempts
this feat? Sometimes I don't think she sees
what he does, but she does!!!!!!!

When Kay got back, we went to the park.
Liam was still for this cute shot. I think this was when
he was refusing to leave.
He is still in his pajames............I'm tellin'
ya, he is a pajama lover!

Royanne running for the bridge she usually
crawls over, then climbs high to go down the tallest
slide. Why crawl then climb? I don't know!

Crawling over the bridge.

Stopping to rest and take a drink.

Monkey on the monkeybars!

Royanne in her still pose.

Climber extraordinaire.

Wants to take daddy somewhere.
He offers a finger.

Off they go..........

...across the grass to the pool she remembered
from the first time she was at this park.
Mind like a steal trap!

On the way down the high slide.

Kay and Liam share a laugh.

Sliding down, no fear.

Making the curve.

Going to the bottom.

Rock climber.

Fall Fest '08

We went to the fall festival at church last weekend.
There were tall blowup slides, moonwalks, cake walks,
water balloon something-or-other, along with cotton
candy, sodas, corndogs, BarBQue, and popcorn.
Royanne spent Friday night with Mimi,
Abby and Liam, and we met them there around noon.
Gotta admire Mimi for taking three that wanted to
go in three different directions!
(Later she said she needed her head examined!)
Royanne really loves chickens, cows, ducks and
roosters. I thought she'd like to have a picture taken
with the Chick*Fil*A Cow.............
I wanted the cow to hold her while she waved and smiled.

She said NO WAY!..........
I was wrong!!

The train ride is always a winner!

Well, actually it is a barrel ride...........

She wore her hat most of the day, which is a change,
because right before she turned 1, she stopped
being agreeable to any kind of headwear. :(
(Doesn't she know she's known for her headwear!!?)

After the festival, the 3 of them went to the playground.
Royanne loves the little playhouses with the
shutters and doors.

Here Liam is sporting playwear for the
2008 fall season:
A NECKTIE WITH A RUGBY SHIRT!

He asked Mimi, "Mimi, why do people
keep telling me they like my tie?"

Liam is peering out, you can barely see him.
Royanne really likes playing with him!

Navy Blue Is Good For...................

...............a blueberry snack

...................playing in the dirt,

and ...............playing in the dying garden.

Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does
your garden grow?

Brushing Teeth

In the beginning, she hated it. She screamed!

Now we do it pretty often (at least three times a day)
(..... every time she gets in the bathroom)
and she has to brush them with a new bead of paste three times
(after she eats it, most likely...),
so I guess we're brushing 9 times, if you
want to look at it that way. And she might not know how to
count, but if I put the toothpaste back in the medicine cabinet
before THREE TIMES, she'll let me know.

And since she likes to eat the paste and add water and suck
the water out, I have been using an electric toothbrush to
get some cleaning done, because she will not
cooperate when it comes to sharing the red toothbrush!
Luckily, she sppears to enjoy the electric toothbrush.

Rinse, rinse!!!
Loves to rinse!

Watching the cat meowing.
Do you brush your teeth with your feet
in the sink?!

Sharing Snacks

Here you can see this little squirrel's mouth pouch
pooched out, and reserves in her hand. She's really
not supposed to walk around and eat.

So, she dropped some, and I guess she thought
they'd be fun to walk on and crush. Maybe she didn't
know I knew she'd done it.

Even when I told her to stop, on she went.

Then came Blue, who eats weird stuff (like corn and
pasta and popcorn) and he ate up some of the crumbs!
she thought it was hilarious!
