Ice Cream in the Pocket

One day last week, Bruce decided to bring home
some ice cream instead of the little
cup from the restaurant.
When he comes home, she goes straight
for the shirt pocket.
She was surprised to find an ice
cream bar.

I sent them outside, and she climbed in a
chair to get away from Pokey.

He got under her chair to lick up the
drips.

This was vanilla ice cream, rolled and
covered with Oreo cookie crumbs.

She had the best time.
She had to rub some in her hair.
She doesn't quite get why Pokey tries
to lick her hair.

Savoring.......
if it was me, it'd be gone by now!

" Mesch-C Annie", as she says.

First Haircut (just a trim, really)

Too many pictures of late displayed a
kiddo with stringy hair, and she was always
brushing her bangs away.
And those clips, bows, and such......they
always disappeared!
So, I got a baggie and took her with
me to my latest hair appointment.

Rachel let her watch me get mine cut for a bit,
then I held her while Rachel texturized
her bangs. They look better and also don't
look very bluntly cut.
I have a small smidgen to keep as a reminder
of her baby hair color.

She did great. I wish she was smiling
or something!

Easter Eggs, Candy & Books

In April asparagus is in season, and she saw some
in the fridge and wanted one. She ate
it raw!

Bruce decided to have Annie decorate
eggs. I asked him if he was sure. He said yes.....

First, she added tablets to already colored
water - because they were in her reach -
and the dye for the eggs wasn't exactly
pastel anymore!
Then she wanted to crack the eggs
together!

Here B is showing her how to dunk them...
yeah, right!

Splash, splash!

Writing with the wax crayon after the fact.
Oh, well!

Tasting the copper colored egg holder.

Having eggs for breakfast the next day!

Royanne visiting Mimi in her class
at church. We practiced her wearing the
hat all week prior to Easter, and she did pretty
good keeping it on, except when she was
playing in the nursery. Her dress was made
by great grandma.

Easter 2008

My, how we have grown!
She doesn't look like a widdle baby
anymore, sniff, sniff.
(I guess Liam hasn't grown, because he is
wearing the same sweater as
he did last year ! LOL)

BASKETS AT MIMI'S
Easter baskets!!
Royanne's didn't have any candy
(Thanks, Mimi, I like it that way!)
so she enjoyed going through it and
discovering what she'd pull out.

A book about a little bunny.
We love books!

Headbands... very fancy!
We hope that headbands will be popular
with her again. Perhaps Abby can help me
to convince her!

Hair bow, not so good, eh?

EASTER BASKET WITH DADDY

We did Easter baskets when Bruce got home
Sunday night because it was just to
much to do before church.

She loved shaking the eggs.

Here she is trying some candy.
She's really not that crazy about sugar.

GOLDFISH! HER FAV!
This must be how she got the nickname
"THE GRABBER" at church during
goldfish snack time!
Here you can see she dumped out
all the contents of the plastic eggs.

She took the first bite of the PEEPS
but never cared for anymore.
She loved the ELMO eggs!

Jelly Belly beans can have surprising tastes!
This one musta been dirt!

Easter Egg Hunt

(This is a late post!)
We went to the Jackson's house for their
annual Easter egg hunt. They hid
over 2,000 eggs and the eggs were hunted
by the kids according to their age.
There was a hayride and fun things to do.
There was even a guy making
whatever you wanted from balloons.

Royanne stared and took it all in, then
joined Liam at the bubble machine.
The yard is beautiful and full of shade trees.

Little peek-a-boo eggs were displayed.

You look inside..................

.............and see an Easter bunny family!

Swinging with Brinton and Lucy.

With Abby and Liam.
The kid l-o-v-e-s to swing!

She was a little unsure about the bouncy
house at the beginning.

She was happy to see Lucy.

First tattoo!

Here she is waiting in line for the egg hunt.
We were waiting for the hayriders to return.
The little little kids didn't understand why we
were standing around. The big bunch of us
were gathered just outside the path to
the pastures, where the fun was waiting!

I thought a small basket was a good idea,
but her eggs kept falling out.

Every time she picked up a egg, she'd
shake it.

Sometimes she'd walk right past the eggs.

Perhaps she had a particular one in mind?

Here she was trying to carry a few and also
carry the basket. Some times she amazes me in
all that she can carry......a cup, 2 dolls, a blanket, a
doll bottle, her silky.

Outside the toddler gathering area,
posing with cousins Abby and Liam.
She was very interested in Liam's basket.

We got our turn on the hayride; we
rode back to the house after the egg hunt.

Finally.....food!

The three of them were whooped!

Dog and Baby Issues

Friday wasn't so good for me!
It was cool outside, it was
early, so we went out for a bit.
When we were in the backyard,
I had pulled the trash can around to the side
gate and I was putting in dead tree branches
from a storm ....when Pokey got out!
I had already put Gilligan in the house, but Pokey
is usually not one to venture out on his own. I thought
I could go after him quickly without Ro noticing,
because she was around the corner, but he
was too far to leave her alone, so I
didn't know what to do! I just
thought maybe he'll come back.
I was hollering for him, holding Royanne....
standing in the driveway......
I didn't know how far he'd go, I didn't want
to loose sight of him. Then 3 young
people with 2 dogs were walking by so
they watched him - he had crossed the
street- until I got back. Luckily I had a
garage door opener with me on the side
fence so I quickly opened the garage door,
put Ro in her
stroller that was thankfully not where it
belonged (in the trunk with the car gone) and went
down the road with the garage opener
in the pouch on the stroller and a dog leash
and I went three houses down where they
were and they said "He went in that garage" - the
door was up about 6 inches for their cat - so,
I stood in their driveway and called for him
and waited and waited while she clapped and
he finally came waddling out. He fought the leash
on the way home although he is leash
trained because he was OUT and wanted to
stay that way! After it was over I realized
I was still in my pjs!

I just can't do a post without
a picture!

Back From Ft. Worth

*
We said a prayer over the car and made a trek
to Ft. Worth. We went to see Camryn, Heather
and Chris' new daughter, and the proud big
brother, Connor.

She can sleep through anything! Royanne and
Connor were being their little quiet
selves (HA!) but she slept on.

Aunt Marsha from Oklahoma City was also
there and Royanne recognized her from the
little photo album with pictures of the faces
(I call it her facebook: not to be confused
with Facebook!) of her relatives that
she doesn't see every day.
When she saw Marsha she said "Bob?"
because she knows Aunt Marsha and Uncle
Bob go together. She's pretty smart, that one!

Kayleigh, Connor and Royanne.
We're gonna have to do something about her
name, because now with the wonderful
addition of Camryn, Ro's
outnumbered in the K sound!

We had some good quality time, and
went out for tacos at Rosa's. Connor and Ro had
nachos. She liked them and shared some
pretty spicy hot sauce with her daddy!
Pictured here are Camryn, her mommy Heather,
Bruce, Royanne and Connor, & Brandy with her
daughter Kayleigh and husband Wesley.
Unfortunately, Chris was working.

Later I went to check on the little monsters
only to find two monkeys jumping
on the bed.

Royanne wants to imitate everyone!

They were shrieking with laughter!

Then, we came home..............

.......and Royanne practiced her newly
acquired skills.

Once, when Royanne was about 6 months
old, Grandma asked me something along
the lines of was I going to let Royanne
jump on the bed, then? I forget what we
were talking about.

And I said "Absolutely!"

~

....and I do!
