Royanne Attends Cousin's Birthday Party

So, it was Abby's 6th (I CAN"T BELIEVE IT!)
birthday, and her parents said she could
have a party......after all, everyone else in her
class has a birthday party. After debating where to
have it (outside at a park, at a kid friendly pizza
restaurant, etc.) they settled on having it at
home. I think 12 girls were invited.
I went with Kay to get the supplies for the
arts & crafts activity (painting and decorating
birdhouses) and for the goodies for the
canvas-use-again-gift
bags (man, that was expensive!)
Craig took Abby to The Party Store and she
picked out MY LITTLE PONY decorations.
Kay really decorated the entry way, remarking
it was so fancy they should have a wedding!
As each child arrived, they ran and screeched
upstairs to Abby's room, and when the doorbell
would ring, they ran down, screeching, then back
up with the new arrivee in tow. Royanne didn't
know WHAT to think!

This is Royanne painting her bird
house after the others had finished.
She mixed paints but she had a lot
of fun.
I have finger paints for her but
I have not yet gotten quite brave enough to
do this activity.

This activity was slated for outside, but
the weather turned from the 80's to the 50's
for the party and everything was inside.

Abby and Liam have a tradition on their
birthdays. Once the girls had all gone
home, the family went outside to let loose
the balloons.

Royanne and Mimi even turned one loose.

Abby still gets a thrill out of it.

....And another....

Mimi and the kids.

There they go!

After the excitement, Aunt Kay fashioned
neon wands into glasses for Ro-Annie.
They glowed purple and pink, although
you cannot tell from this picture.

Silly girls!

New Name

Oh, by the way, she likes to be
called ANNIE now.
I call her Ro-Annie and she has
shortened it.

Loving Elmo 'Til The Bitter End

Remember the night Bruce came home
with the Elmo balloon, fashioned by
a professional-balloon-character-
fashioner?

Well, she wouldn't give it up.

Ro kept him until he became very
small, shrunken, and pruned-looking.

That can be considered a good thing:
Maybe she'll take care of me when I am
old and pruned and shrunken-looking!

Looks Are Deceiving

Royanne kept asking me for canda,
which is candy. I was pretty sure she
didn't like candy, because she never eats
it when she gets it. Not even suckers at
the drive-thru bank.
She took me to the kitchen and wanted me to
pick her up. I had no idea what we were
searching for, so I slowly made my
way around the kitchen, while she
kept pointing.
We came to a cabinet I knew had a little
jar of orange and chocolate kisses in it.
Bruce has one of these ocasionally, and
sure enough, that's what she had in mind.
I gave her one as she downloaded, so we
went to the changing table. She had pooped,
and as I was cleaning her she said "EASH-EE!"
which is her way of saying EASY!
She has developed a bit of irratated skin after
eating tons of Bruce's homemade
pasta sauce.
She then took out the candy she'd been
sucking on -the big melted mess- looked
at it, & proclaimed it "POOP!"
She threw it down and wiped her hands all
over her shirt. I was rolling, she thought it
was poop, she really did!

Magician

Ro had French toast for breakfast
and some grapes. I usually take them
off and cut them in half but I decided to try
and see if she did OK with not cutting.
She liked taking them off herself.
As she was finishing up, Bruce told her
to put the grapes back on the stem.

Well, she tried! It was
hilarious! She balanced it on the stem.

Still trying.

The picture cut off, but she threw the last
of the grapes in the floor, frustrated.
It was hysterical! She's so funny!

Riding the Hand Truck

The other night we were outside after Bruce
came home from work and Royanne was
standing next to the hand truck with her
hand on it, saying "riding, riding..."
He stood her on it and rode her up and down
the deck.

I had gone in for the camera, (SHOCK!)
and when I came back outside, they were
doing this and I said "That's a good idea!"
and Bruce said, "Haven't you done this
before? I thought you'd done this before!"

And I said "NO!"
Turns out, Royanne thought it up
all by herself. I guess she saw the wheels
and thought it was a toy for her like
the truck and cycle.

She really had fun and did not
want to stop!

Then she spent several engrossed
moments carting sand from the box across
the deck to a bowl, carrying 2 spoonfuls
at a time.

Spillage!

"All gone!"

"Ut-oh!"

'Gain!
(Her word for again)

She loves being outside.

Pinkt Paint

:)
No, it is not a type-o.
Royanne pronounces pink "pinkt".
She puts t on the end of alot of words that
end with a "k" sound. If you know this, you
can understand her a whole lot better!

Before the pinkt paint.

As I began to paint, I realized she was going
to be very squirmmy, so I stuck torn cotton pads
between her tootsies. She was quick to
indicate that this wasn't very confortable.
I have since purchased some sponge squares
that are made for this job! I had to cut them
down on the sides, however, because they
were still too wide. She no likey!

Ta-da!

First PonyTail

Prayer Doll

Our sweet friend from church, Jackie, gave Royanne
a doll when she got out of the hospital.
It is a Precious Moments Doll, and says a
prayer when you squeeze her tummy.
This doll has a halo & wings, and the
hands are folded as if in prayer.

"Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep;
May angels watch me through the night,
And keep me in their blessed sight, Amen."

She loves this doll. Here she is covering it
with her precious silky.

Talking to the doll, whose name is Angel.

Kissing Angel.

" Pat-pat Angel."

Fetch..............Or Not!

Pokey wanted the ball Royanne had. He wasn't
aware it was an orange golf ball, however.
She was really getting annoyed with him.

Here she wouldn't give it up. He has the
patience of Job, as they say.

She crossed her arms and was telling him
"BACK!"

She was teasing him with it.

She ran off and he followed.
This went on until way after dark when I
made her come in. It was quite a stand off!

Daddy's Day Off

PLANTING

They started their day off planting seeds.
Royanne doesn't understand, of course, planting,
but she has a lot of fun playing in the
dirt and helping her daddy.

They seedlings are now on top of the
fridge so they stay sort of warm. She
knows they're there. Might not know
what they are for, but she knows where they are.

Pretending to count. You remember....
1-2-3........8-9-10 !

Poking them in with planting tweezers.

RIVERY WALK

There's a new walkway in town, and it
is about time we used it!
So, we got the wagon, some water,
some snacks, a golf ball retriever (we'd be
near the golf course, so why not!), Elmo
and the silky. Off we go!
As you can see, we found a few
golf balls.

Royanne decided she wanted to walk
a spell, and even offered to assist
with pulling the wagon.

She got bored, dropped the handle

and ran ahead, laughing.

She happily posed for a picture.

And another.

Collecting rocks.

Helping by pushing.

Throwing the collection.

Starting a new collection.

Heading towards the playground at the
end of the journey.

Can I really make it all the way up?

Looks very big to a little kiddo.

Bye-bye.
