Little Visiters and Little Bumps

Royanne's niece, Kayleigh, came to visit her last week.
They played together as good as little babies can.....

Royanne shared her favorite toy with Kayleigh...
the remote.

* * * * *

Last Friday, Royanne spent the night with her cousins, Abby and Liam, & Mimi,
Uncle Craig and Aunt Kay. The week before, Liam had
a run-in with the coffee table while playing and made a trip
to the emergency room for 3 stitches right next to his eye. (That was a close call!)

Well, the same mean ole coffee table was also after Ro.
She only received a shiner and a busted lip.

Poor baby!

Aunt Kay reports she barely cried.

Great grandma thinks she might become a tomboy, she loves to
run and chase after Liam so. Yes, she is RUNNING!!!
Not even a year old and already running!!

Father's Day

Today we went to Kay's for Father's Day. We had Bar-be-que, 4 kinds of salad & all the fixins.
The kiddos really had alot of fun playing together.
This kind of looked like they were playing follow the leader.
Sometime during all the craziness, Royanne climbed up to the sixth stair!
I didn't get a picture of that, because I was trying to slow down my heart rate!

Here she discovered an unattended gift for Uncle Craig.

If you remember from several weeks ago, Royanne will shred tissue
paper for you, no problem!

Liam and Abby were rolling around on the floor and Ro
went over to join them.

She thinks she is a big kid.

Here the three of them are having their first secret
meeting of the Cousin Club.

They both took turns "holding the baby" until the
baby had had enough.

Resting after a longgggggggggg day.
(Did I mention she started her day at 3:17 A.M.?)

Water Lover

One night last week Royanne really wanted me to hold her while I was cleaning up after dinner. She did things like this for many days after she came back home when we were separated (when Bruce was in the hospital). So, I held her and did what I could but eventually I had to sit her down. She started to cry so Bruce suggested we give her some water, soap and dishes.
Well, it was a big hit! She splattered the water around and played
with the bubbles.

She then decided it would be alot more fun to tip it over and
increase the surface play area.

She then moved it around so she could get right in
the middle of it. She was shrieking with glee!

Next came getting on her knees, then back to a squat,
and pat! pat! pat! the water. Notice the sagging diaper!

She looked over to see if I was approving.

Then back to her knees and pat! pat! pat!

The finished product......

She Loves Fruit More Than Ice Cream

The other night after church, everyone stayed to have an ice cream buffet!
I had the camera with me and got a good picture of Liam
having an ice cream cone.

As I came back outside, I saw Bruce and Royanne
were on the blanket, having some ice cream. Royanne L-O-V-E-S
ice cream! She had an issue with food related diaper
irritation, so we bought soy ice cream. No matter, she loves
that also. Sometimes on the way from Bruce's doctor
appointments we get ice cream cones and he'll sit in the
back seat and share with her.

Here she is at home putting the soy ice cream loaded
spoon to her mouth. Imagine my surprise and shock when the next night,
(as seen below) she preferred a pear with dad to
ice cream!

(Notice the tippy-toes!)

Once A Meddler, Always A Meddler

We can always tell Royanne is up to something when she
gets quiet and stops her jabbering.

Here she discovered a shopping bag and began to unwind the twine.

She opened the drawer, as you see, when something
on top caught her attention.

All is forgiven when I get a photo op like this one!

Then there was last night when the ice machine door got left open just a little bit. Mimi and I are both ice chewers, and Royanne has noticed this. She always bums ice from anyone's cup. Our ice machine makes small cubes, just her size. Again, realizing she was quiet, I looked over from doing the dishes, to see her having a litttle snack.

She's got people!

....You know the TV commercial, where people brag "I got people"......

Well, months ago I made Royanne 2 FACE BOOKS. One was of her Austin family (with Layton, Amy and Wes added in) and one of the Ft. Worth bunch. Recently she has really showed a lot of interest in them and will carry them around for hours, jabbering and laughing and smiling as she looks through them. She recognizes her people! She gives the biggest reaction when she looks at pictures of Connor.
Here are some pictures of them interacting on our last trip to Ft. Worth.

Connor is Royanne's nephew............yes, it's true!

Royanne has a new niece. She's almost 6 months old and they also played together, as much as babies can play together. Her name is Kayleigh Elizabeth.

Brandy, Kayleigh's mom, thought it would be fun to go to GrapeVine because she heard about a shop that sells baby headbands! Royanne and I were all over that! Here they are with the guys in the front seat.

Golfer In The Making

Bruce is really looking forward to resuming his golf game after his back heals.
He is looking foward to getting Royanne excited as he is about the game. He has already priced little gal (pink) clubs. He had twin shirts embroidered for them.
This day, we took over three hundred pictures (aren't digital cameras the best?)
I am including some of my favorites.

Top Ten Picks For Contest

Hey, if you are gonna enter a contest, might as well make it A CONTEST!!

Good Morning America and BabyTalk Magazine are teaming up to pick this year's winner that will be on the cover of a magazine this fall.

You know me, had to enter! The rules were okay for the most part, with the exception that the submission had to be within 30 days of the date of entry. Last day to enter was May 31st. Royanne has many excellent pictures (if I say so myself!) and there were some from Halloween or even Christmas that will be some of my all time favorites, but they weren't qualifiers, so we were forced (smile, smile) to take more pictures!

We brought our top ten picks to our friend at church, Richard Tyler, and asked him to use his keen eye and pick what he thought might be the best: A WINNER!

Below are the contenders.

Outside with daddy.

Although the color was weird due to the piercing sun that day, this sure is cute!

Same day, different sun.

First experience swinging...no fear.

The kid loves the water!

This is my very favorite.

Here she says, "I was caught, but ain't I cute?"

Sweet.

One of Richard's favorites.

Richard's other favorite.

So....................we got back home and we got on the computer to analyze the big decision and I noticed since we took a little too long asking Richard and since he kept them a few days, the big contenders were "too old", so we had to go out and take some more pictures.

This was what we submitted.

I think Bruce said there were like 40,000 entries......

We dream big!
