Sunshine On Her Shoulders

Although the Texas summer sun has torn up the
paint on the deck, we still managed to protect the new pool
with a piece of new carpet padding. Bruce made the deck
strong with concrete posts, so I am hoping
it can support the weight of the pool.

This girl loves the water. She has little fear
at the rec center, and will jump in and can
hold her breath when she goes under. I
hope the swimming lessons we'll take in July
are beneficial! There's a slight chance she
already knows what they'll be teaching.

She is amazed by the planes that fly overhead,
headed to the little airport a few miles away. One of the
local pools is very close to the airport, and she loved
going to that pool one Sunday afternoon
when the rec center was closed.

She's thinking her doll needs to swim.
I couldn't talk her out of it.

This is a random picture, taken at Liam's outside
birthday party in May. It had a pirate theme and
here she's showing me her pirate look.
I don't get the finger on the eye, however.

Grocery Store Trip

Here Royanne is looking to fill her bag at the local H.E.B.
She loves to go to the grocery store because
she knows she can get a 25 cent gumball.
(Hence, the blue face)
But as for me, her mood has to be just
right, else I can't finish my list and she's
crying to be held when it is time to pay.

So far her little person sized
bag holds some numbers to add to
her sticker book. Said sticker book holds
numbers that when collected and tallied,
can purchase an art smock, sidewalk chalk,
stuff like that.

I took out the camera this day when a passerby
said, "Grandma should have a camera for that face!"

I wanted to say, "Grandma is at work, woman!!!"
but I said nothing.

This was the day after a home cut on the bangs.

She likes to ride on the end, but sometimes forgets
and steps off when we are in route!

From Crib to Youth Bed: Try Two

We took the rails off last night.
This time I didn't give all the reasons for caution: Aaron
would be so proud!! :)
We just took them off, told her she must be
a big girl to have no more rails. She stayed in the bed, for
the most part, and wasn't afraid of my cautionary
heedings, since I kept them to myself this
time.

Sometime during the night she got up
and got on the floor. I don't guess she
fell out since she's pointing the other way!

It was so sweet for her to pad in
to the kitchen this morning, looking for me, as
she rubbed her eyes.....
All by herself: she didn't need to call
for me.

Sporting the Same Look

This week I saw Glenna's daughter
Cristina's child, Georgia,
sporting an I LOVE MOM shirt on FB.

We have one just like it! :)

Spring

These two shelves in our bedroom are reserved for
Royanne's grocery store (the name being H.E.B.).
On this day, they held some groceries, books
and Annie herself. She has
a grocery cart and she'll go in there after I've stocked it,
and get things she needs for her kitchen in her bedroom.
Problem is, she's inherited stuff from Abigail's kitchen...
and the grocery store, the kitchen and the cart
can barely hold all of the items! IMAGINE MY
FUN WHEN IT COMES TO CLEAN UP TIME!
Occasionally she'll sing the song, "clean up,
clean up, everyone do your share".
Mind you, that's when she IS helping. When she
isn't in the mood, she'll pretend she never heard
of that song! She'll claim extreme fatigue!

One day I heard "giddy up, giddy up!"
Time to take down the rails?

Dress up.

Bracelets galore!

Hoping for rain to check out the coolness
of the raincoat from Aunt Janice.

Spring Planting

I don't know why he won't give up: the past 2 years
have been quite unfruitful for Bruce and his
plants. Several years ago those pesky squash
bugs found their way to our yard, and even though
the planting location was changed each year
thereafter, they
found and killed our plants. Last year
it was too hot for tomatoes. In 2007, we had
so many tomatoes - even those beefy purple
ones - we supplied 4 other families besides
ourselves.

He had to build raised beds to keep the
dogs out, and later, the raccoons.
Gilligan always had a green nose instead
of white, proof he was digging through
the tomatoes. Further proof were the bites taken
out of the green ones....... all over
the deck!

Here Royanne is watering the pepper
plants.

After I went in and came back outside, I found
out Bruce got her some cups, her tea pot and gave
her some water. No big deal, usually, but this
day she was in new pants!

Pokey always wants to play ever since Gilligan ran
away; he's lonely.

New pants, no longer new!

We found a few bluebonnets in a friend's
neighborhood.

Below are some planting pictures.
We planted flowers and beans,
(just plain ole pinto beans!)
to get a beanstalk so she can
climb up like Jack.
They have come up!

Here she was asking Bruce "Why?"
about something or other.
It is her favorite thing these days!

Techie

We went to Discount Electronics to get me a
new hard drive, and Royanne sat down and started
looking at a printer that was on the floor. I took
pictures because it was just too cool.

She dropped her keys, doll and purse
and began seriously checking it out!
