Thank You, Mr. Policeman!

There are two reasons I am making this post. Number one, we need to be aware of and be thankful for how helpful and diligent police officers are. The second reason is to reinforce what you may already know: keep your doors locked on your vehicle at all times!
Royanne and I were returning from Round Rock. We had been to Abi's Orchestra performance. We were debating on getting a snack at Whataburger and decided to stop at the one at the end of Gattis School Road next to Outback Steakhouse. We pulled into a parking space that was facing the steakhouse and I locked the car doors as we applied sanitizer so we did not have to go to the restroom once we got inside. Royanne was putting on her sanitizer and I said "be sure and get your fingertips " when all of a sudden someone tried to open my door and then banged on the window several times. The first thought I had was "that makes me really mad! "And I laid down on my horn without stopping!! He was running toward Outback Steakhouse but then he turned around and came back. That's when I asked Royanne to find my phone so I could call 911. I was watching him in the side view mirror when he came back and this time went around on Royanne's side. When I was on the phone with RR dispatch, I did not realize she had opened the door and was out of the car! She was standing up she was looking over the roof & when I saw THAT, I screamed "GET IN THE CAR, GET IN THE CAR!" As he zoomed by he hit the side of the car. She was SO freaked out, she began screaming, all the while I am talking to dispatch. He went around towards the front of the car and back the other way so I told dispatch where I was and which direction he was going and that I was going to follow him. I told them that he was going around the back of Whataburger, headed over to where the drive-thru is. I followed him and stopped briefly to see where he had gone but I could not see him. That's when I saw a dark blue Mustang turning tight circles across the way in a different parking lot. That is when 3 -THREE - police cars headed to where I was: I had given them a description of my vehicle, and so I told the dispatcher that I saw the policeman and she told me I could hang up and they would come talk to me. By this time the driver of the blue Mustang was out and he was on the phone. He was really freaked out. He was in his 20s he was breathing hard and had a lot of adrenaline going on. He was also talking to dispatch. We compared stories and that is when he told me that the guy was trying to get in his car while he was driving it through the parking lot. I said "I don't know where he is" and then Royanne saw him. He was near the guard rail. He was climbing over the guard rail, going down the grass embankment headed for I H 35! The 4 policeman ran towards the guardrail, doors left open. The guy in the mustang took off. We thought he was also looking for that bad guy. It was at this time that the policeman ran back to their cars and all of them left. We waited a few minutes. They did not come back. We saw a bunch of ladies up by a boxing place so we went up to see if he had been bothering them and that was why they were on the sidewalk. But they said no, they were just getting out of a class. Royanne was still hysterical, crying, sobbing, hyperventilating, face red and swelling and one of the guys that was there came to her side of the car and was comforting her while I was telling the ladies what was going on. It was then one of the ladies said "look at the police, they just went across the highway. ( 6 lanes!!!) you don't think he made it all away across the highway do you?" We waited a while longer and when the police didn't return we assumed they were still looking for him. We headed home and after a few miles got a call from one of the policeman and asked us to come back and write out a statement. So we went back they had caught him! He had been trying to get into cars at Rudy's barbecue, CVS pharmacy and another place Two of the policeman tried to calm R and gave her a badge for being brave. As they were chitchatting and asked where she went to school we found out that one of them is best friends with the. father of one of Royanne's friends. ❤️
Man! We'll be up late, no doubt.

Aspirations

So, she's brushing her hair in the mirror while we wait on the Doctor. She says, "So , when I grow up, should I be a hair trimmer or a police officer with great hair?"
