Her Own Stool

Bruce is real good at wood working. He saw something like this
in a magazine and made it for Royanne.
We call it her stool.
It can be adjusted as she gets taller. The standing surface
can be lowered and secured in the different notches.

She really likes it. She can see what I am doing on the
island - which has its good points and also bad - but
her movements can also be contained when coloring
or finger painting (which I am working up the
nerve to do). In this picture she is working
on a puzzle.

Here she is coloring. This is also a great temptation
for her because when she thinks I'm not paying
attention, she tries to climb up on the island. She's a real
good climber, don't forget!

Here she is trying to assist with the family
finances.........

........trying to plan out a better strategy.

Looking at a calendar from last year, on the
DECEMBER page.

She loves pecking on the calculator. It is like the
buttons on the TV, cell phones, remotes.......
but this is a yes-yes, not a no-no.

Seeing the view in the calculator change while
punching buttons fascinates her.

Flipping pages.

Taking a crayon to it.
(Left handed)

She really looks like she's doing something
important, huh?
