1,2,5....8,9,10

That's how she counts..............
1-2-5........8-9-10.

These cards were one of many items from Mimi for
Valentine's Day. Elmo, Elmo, Elmo!

I'd say we need them!

Asparagus & Augmentin

I do declare! Royanne has the most unusual
palate for a toddler!
In addition to loving sharp cheddar, Asiago
cheese, chips & salsa and cold kidney
beans, she loves asparagus!

She shoved it in and wanted more.

I just started eating it in the last 6 years
or so, because I'd only had it from a can,
and discovered the fresh stuff is outta
this world! I am so glad Royanne
loves her veggies!

As you can see, in the background,
we are tracking the
medicine intake with Elmo faces.

Here she is showing me the Elmo collection.

Every morning, every night, it is
med-c (her way of saying medicine) and then
on to the Elmo wall.
We apply the tape and she sticks them
wherever. Sometimes she says "HIGH!"
so we will lift her higher.

Once it was all over, we had displayed
24 Elmo faces. When I bought the package
of Elmo faces months ago, I didn't know what
I'd use them for, but I knew she'd love them.
Sometimes putting up an Elmo made the
medicine easier to swallow.

Royanne, when in a calm and
pleasant mood, was given the opportunity
to pretend to draw up her medicine.
She was so proud! She really was good about
taking the nasty stuff.

We bought a canister of banana flavored
instant breakfast drink right before this
kidney infection thing happened.
She wouldn't drink milk and we were trying
to wean her from toddler formula.
The augmentin was banana flavored,
and since I hadn't yet opened the instant
breakfast, I returned it. Who would ever expect
her to take up with banana instant breakfast when
the med-c was banana? So, for the time
being we'll get our calcium in orange juice and
various types of cheese.

Home From the Hospital

This post only has 1 picture. I still have not
had the time to complete my understanding
of how in the world to retrieve a picture from
the video camera, to log her hospital stay.

When it was time to be discharged from the
hospital, Bruce couldn't get away from work, so Kay
and Liam came to get us and take us home. I asked
Liam to stay until his dad got off of work & could
come and get him, and to play
with Royanne.
Kay brought Liam to the hospital in his pjs - he
loves his pjs - and she didn't realize he didn't wear
shoes. So, when we got inside our house, Kay made
Liam take off his socks because she didn't want
the hospital germs in my house. Liam said the tile
was too cold, so I gave him a pair of bobby sock
style striped socks, made from a polyester-spandex
blend. He managed to get them almost to his knees,
and while they were playing, I took this picture,
because it looked like the wicked witch
of the west,
under the house on the Wizard of Oz.
It cracked me up!
He asked me if he could keep the
socks- he is a sock lover also- and I said
sure! Mimi said he's worn them 3 or 4 times
since; they get washed & they're back on
his feet. Silly boy!

Unhindered

The stool Bruce made for Ro has come
in handy when she wants to watch what
we are doing in the kitchen. Beats holding her
all over the place!
However, when she learned to PUSH IT
around, it had to spend chunks of time in
the garage.

Here, sporting a Christmas candy cane
confiscated from a kitchen snack drawer,
she has moving the stool on her mind.....

She threw down the candy - which she
doesn't even like (but it was snagged during her
covert operation)- when it was impeding
her progress.

Here she is turning it a quarter
turn so she can investigate another
counter top.

She grunts when it gets stuck in the
grout.

Almost done!

Climbing up........

Scoping out the possibilities.....

"OH! Mom's coupon wallet!.....
little pieces of paper......"

"WOW! Lookie what I've got!
And it was so easy!"
(Which is why the stool goes in
the garage from time to time).

Later, she decides to unload
the cabinet while I unload the dishwasher!

A Smart One, That's What She Is.

Royanne was being held by Bruce when he
opened the cabinet to get the Pam
cooking spray. The lid was sitting cock-eyed
and she said "Ut-oh,....broke!"

She has been pushing that stool he made her
all over the kitchen when she pleases,
(so she can retrieve NO-NO things) & I now keep
it in the diningroom on the carpet (because she's
not yet strong enough to pull it off of the rug.
Sometimes it has to hide in the garage).
She knows it helps her reach the sink, or
whatever, because she stands on it.

So, last
night she wanted at the sink, so she stood on
a book. Today, she stood inside a
clothes basket. She has the right idea, just
the wrong item.....smart, smart.

Latest Play Date With Liam

Liam came over real early a week ago Friday, and he
wanted to wake Royanne up so bad! So, I set
the timer so he'd know when it was O.K. to do so.

She was so glad to see him! Sometimes she calls
him Abby. I think she thinks Abby and Liam are
a set, and they are called ABBY.

We planned a lot for the day; first we'd go
outside on the deck and ride a while, then we'd
play in the sandbox, then the water table.
Afterwards, we'd have lunch & then practice
our golf techniques and run through the
sprinkler, if it wasn't too windy.
(It wasn't so we did!)
When his clothes were drying,
they watched a video.

Silly boy!

Her bangs are getting so long, and they
poke her in the eyes.

This is Liam's way of picking up the baby.

Liam pretended to have a crash and fell off the
truck with much dramatization, and it
kind of scared Royanne, and she
almost started to cry.

Here it appears he is telling her that it
is all a game, and how to play it. When they
play together, he's talking a mile a minute,
explaining the details of their next adventure
as they pretend this or that. She listens even though
she doesn't understand everything he says.
When I told him she didn't really understand,
he said "Sure she does, she plays soldiers really good!"
Well, O.K., then!

Here Liam is moving in for the
crash.

This time she copies and plays along, but I am
sure she doesn't know what she's doing it for!

Belly crash.

Second crash. Liam is drama filled, Ro.....
........not so much!

Playing in the water. She was soaked!

Messing Around

Drinking from the turtle cup that goes with
her outside water play station. I keep on telling her
to not drink out of it, but she doesn't
always listen. Can you believe that!?

This was a morning she woke up early -
complete with her morning hair -
and wanted to go right outside, bypassing
breakfast. She wanted to see Gee-gee.
Gee-gee is her name for Gilligan.
Here she is hugging him.

She has discovered the grill and always
tries to turn the knobs.

Once inside and dressed, it seems it is
time to wash the dishes! She can push her
stool all over the kitchen - only hindered by an
occasional delay when the stool gets hung on
the grout.

She loves to play in the water.

Tickled beyond words!
