PIG TAILS

JUST A PICTURE

The Toys of 2008

* * *
Why is it we spend money, or
accept gifts and presents, of
toys, when they would
prefer a fist full of iced tea spoons or a cell phone? Royanne
has so many "toys" that
are strange to me.

Mad about something..........might be

no more cell phone.

AT THE PARK WITH ABSTER & YE-YUM

Royanne is very fortunate to have her cousins nearby.
Whenever I talk about "ABBY" or "LIAM", she always knows
who I am talking about. Last Sunday afternoon, they played together
at the playground.

When Royanne arrived, she wasn't sure what to
make of having to walk in the tiny stones. She was a little
intimidated at first.

Abby carried her inside the playhouse. It had a bench, a few shelves
and a kitchen area. Royanne knew exactly what to do.

.....eat rocks!

The rocks soon became her friends.

Abby decided they needed to collect "about a million."

Royanne gave going up the slide a try because she
had seen Liam doing it. She does a lot of things
Liam taught her!

After she got used to it, the slide was fun as long
as Abby took her down.

Here we see Liam going down tummy first. How many
days will it be before Royanne tries this?
DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!

SHOE LOVER

Mimi came over the other day and brought Royanne some
shoes she just couldn't pass up! Royanne's face really lit up when she saw them!
Cinderella is tucked inside! They are *PINK* and have
several rhinestones on them!

So, that gift put an idea in her head...........and she went to
her closet to visit with the shoes that are waiting for
her to grow into them.

She especially likes these pink ones. I have no idea why she is
liking *PINK* so much!

Here she is dreaming of the day she can wear these
black ones that used to be Abby's!

Birthday Clothes

I have finally gotten around to writing about one of Ro's birthday presents.
Sometime in February, Bruce and I were at Gymboree (YAY!)
and we saw a cowgirl shirt and skirt and a pink hat!! They were so cute!
Royanne was small for her age, if you can even ever tell anything about
baby clothing sizes anyway, so we debated on what size to buy her for
July, her birthday.
Well, the skirt is a little big, it is size 12-18 months, the shirt
is a bit tight, it is size 12 months.
The hat fits well, though, and I had bought these leg warmers on
the internet. It all came together quite nicely except
IT IS SUMMER AND THESE ARE HOT CLOTHES!
(What was i thinking? That it was cute really wasn't
a good enough idea to buy it afterall. I should have bought size 18
months. I have since learned better!)
Anyhow, here are some shots of her modeling for me.

Looking out the window, hoping to spot a birdie.

Outside - found that little birdie!

She didn't know I was taking her picture. This is my favorite.

Lil Cow Gal.

Howdy partner!

My hat is off to ya!

Getting Ready For Church

It's always hard to take Royanne's picture at home, before church because
I usually dress her in the car when we get there. She'll go in her
pajamas on Sunday morning, or a t-shirt.
Reason:
Have you seen what a car seat bucket or two can do to a 100% cotton dress?
She has a lot of these types of dresses. They just don't look as
sweet as balled up!
Mimi has come up with 3 or 4 adorable ones for her.

I am so good getting the picture as she turns away!
Here she is, purse and all.

Doll face.

Recent Trip To Uncle Joe and Aunt Janice's

Last weekend Bruce thought he was able to travel to Aledo (Ft. Worth) to
see family, so off we went. I was somewhat skeptical because I
was not sure his back was up to it yet. We were both right: he
made it just fine (meaning we made it) but he hurt
pretty bad that evening and we cut our first evening's plans short.

When we got upstairs and I dressed the baby for bed, she was
walking around and pushed open the bathroom door
and just stood there. I wasn't able to capture her first reaction,
but she was completely entranced by the bathroom floor!
She squatted down and touched it with one finger, then she
sat down and rubbed it.

Then she started walking around on it and singing.

When we went outside to see the chickens, and she saw in person
what is in her books, she was really tickled!

She loved running up and down the little hill area.

Here she is running back to the chickens.

Later on, Janice let them out for some exercise.
Of course, she had to chase after them!

Can't be outside in the summer at Aunt Janice's
without some ice cream!

Good thing he took her shirt off!!

SEE??!!
From chin to belly button!

Royanne met Sarah's horse, Zoe.

She wasn't even afraid.

(....."Old McDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O.....")

Zoe stood there a long time until Royanne finally
touched her.

Ro must think everyone has dogs, because just about
everywhere she's been, there are doggies.
These were all very gentle and she was delighted.
Pictured are Rosie, TJ and Buddy.
Lilly is hiding upstairs.

Ro' Annie found what she thought were dog food bowls (they were)
and followed the different dogs around to feed them,
even though there was no food in the bowls. Here
she is with Rosie.

Here she is with TJ. I think Lilly is hiding out.

Looking for Lilly.

In the hot tub with daddy.

Swimming with cousin Sarah.

Swimming with Connor.

Connor was jumping in from the diving board.

Leisurely swim.

We all went to dinner that night at Ruth's Chris
Steakhouse for Joe's birthday.
Betty, Merle, Janice, Joe, Bryce, Avyn, Sarah, Bruce
& Royanne. She was the only baby in the place.
We had a private dining room so
she could squeal if she wanted to!

Sometime between dinner and dessert, Royanne
made the rounds from lap to lap around the
table and collected spoons on her journey.

When she made it around to Aunt Janice, she snagged
her glasses. Notice, she still has a fist full of spoons.

Not only did she take Grandpa's spoon,
but she talked him into wearing Janice's
reading glasses!
On top of his own!

She got a laugh out of that!

The next night we went to Brandy & Wesley's for dinner.
Royanne really liked her sister's lasagna!

While we were there, we dressed these 3 monkeys
alike and took their picture.

I took about 40 pictures but only a few showed all
three of them looking at the camera at the same time!
ROYANNE * CONNOR * KAYLEIGH

We got home - after 3 days - at midnight
and I was WHUPPED!
