She Loves Her Babies

Royanne has 6 dolls now, and she usually carries
at least 2 around at all times.

Add to it her silky and her cup of
water.......
perhaps a necklace or two, a colored
pencil, a tablet of paper......
...the girl doesn't travel light!

Sweet!!

Momma's Day

Mother's Day eve, when Bruce came home from
work, he was shuffling around the garage door - I
was finishing up a load of dishes - and he asked
Royanne to go with him to the bedroom. Sometimes
she follows him to the bedroom when he gets home,
he unloads his pockets, might change clothes.
After a few minutes I went down the hall and
he was coaching her to say "Happy Mother's
Day". (I wasn't supposed to be there). She was very
excited and proud in what was happening! He had
snuck flowers in the house in a big box.

After we arranged them in 2 vases, we had a
smelling session.

They were heavenly!

The next morning, Abby and Annie wore
their matching dresses Mimi made for them
to church.
The fabric came from Bruce's mom.

Trying a different spin

on posed picture taking - Ro's idea:
standing on the bench!

Abby spotting Annie so she won't fall
as she climbs up again.

Lisa took a picture of the three of us!

Later, at Mimi's & Kay's for lunch.

Telling funny stories.

Abby loves the baby!

Cousins!

* - *

Kay took several classes this past semester,
and with Mimi never knowing when her
exit time from work will be, we traded who
we picked up for church on Wednesday
nights. We gave Grandma to Mimi because it
is close to church, and Kay started bringing
the kids over after Abby got home from
school at 3 pm. Kay would then go on to ACC.
The kids would play, eat dinner, get cleaned up,
and off we'd go, trying to get out the door by
625-630.

Royanne sure likes to imitate everything
Liam does. Take for example, scream. She
can sound just like him. Now she is in love
with band-uhs (bandaids). Now she wants
them all the time, (Go Family Dollar, go!)
and she'll say "Eeeeelllllbbbbooooooowwww
hurrrrrrrrrrrrtttt, momma!"
[or perhaps another body part.]

Liam, this particular afternoon, remembered he had a small
cut that just might bleed.
And this week, she's started saying something
Liam always says and it is just too funny,
coming from her!
Whenever he doesn't like the way the day
is going or my rules (like "Don't jump from
the couch to the playscape!")
he'll say "I WANNA GO HOME!" &
along with all this comes alligator tears!
Now she's saying it whenever she doesn't get
her way but she doesn't realize she's
already home! So far, no instant
waterworks. She's a hoot!

Enjoying sodas and a tub of popcorn
before church. Sometimes, that's just
more fun!

Ice Cream

*
This upside down fridge we have!
The freezer on the bottom! This concept
was attractive for me because of my
issues with back pain and bending over.
That pesky disc!
Having the fridge easily accessible
without bending down to the the bottom
shelf: SUPER!
[I also have the dishwasher raised high.]
But the freezer! Royanne can get
hash browns, frozen peas, ice cream,
sausage.....whatever pops in her head. I guess
I am going to have to go back to
the bungee cords!!
I have given up ice cream for the sake
of my weight. I can't stop eating it!
Royanne eats for me.
-
This day, early afternoon, she decided it
was time for an ice cream snack.

As she snacked, I talked to her about why
she should not get in the fridge by
herself. (yes, I gave in and let the
snack take place!)

She thought maybe using her charm
would get her a free ride.
.....
uh..........maybe.............

Need help for how-to

Can anyone tell me how to keep pictures
and paragraphs
uniformly spaced? They are when I create them;
then after posting, they are not! Also, I cannot
figure out why the posting is crammed up next
to the title. I have to use signs and symbols
for spacing purposes.
HELP!

Carts and PJs

*
This cart was orginally purchased for a shopping
cart. I save empty cartons and packaging
of small type foods, to make our own grocery
store so Annie can go shopping. These items are
going to be on a shelf in our bedroom.
Annie tries to carry around her silky, 2 or 3,
sometimes 4 dolls, and her sippy cup of
water. So, I told her this could also
be used for babies.
-
So, she used it for my baby!
But she can't get out.
-

Slowing waking up...........

-
An idea! How do snaps work?

This went on so long, her pajama top was
so stretched!!

Doll House Fun

Royanne got her first doll house from her Mimi
for her first Christmas, when she was 5 1/2
months old. She used to lay on her stomach
and look in and at it. Now she really knows what
it is for. I placed it on the fireplace hearth
so she can see in it well, standing up to play
instead of having to be on her tummy, if the
doll house was on the floor.

When I was 5 or 6, Grandma made me a
5 story doll house, about 4 feet tall. I recently
got some of the 40 year old furniture from a bag
crammed in one of the rooms of that doll house.
I had to put cookie sheets in front of Ro's little
doll house because we needed more rooms. Too
much furniture!

(There's a cow on the couch and a pig in the
easy chair!)

A few days later I made "rugs" from foam sheets.
nother way to learn colors! She really likes to set
all the different dolls (and even animals)
around the tables, bringing in the living room
furniture also, for extra seating.

I made a special visiting family of pipe cleaners!

Foot Paint

Annie calls nail polish foot paint.

Right foot before the clean-up with polish
remover.

This is a new and fun way to learn colors!

"Hair A Wreck"

Annie's new thing to say:
"Hair A Wreck"
When she gets up, if her hair was damp
at bedtime the night before due to a bath,
or if she was too wrapped up in her blanket
and she got a little sweaty, then her hair
will be messy, going north and east and west.
So, I say, "Annie, your hair is a wreck!"
Now, she tells me that. It is SO funny!
The other afternoon we were playing
in her room. She was trying to comb her doll's
(plastic) hair and she was saying,
"baby, hair a wreck!"
Then she said "Momma: hair a wreck.
Mimi: hair a wreck.
Abby: hair a wreck.
Daddy: hair a wreck.
Grandma: hair a wreck.
Kay: hair a wreck."
On and on she went, through the list of her people.

Mess-C

Royanne knows who fits around her little
finger well (daddy).
I usually don't let her drink tea because
when she drinks it (dribbles it) it will stain
whatever she is wearing. (See post Making Soup
regarding stains and me).
However, Bruce
will. That's when you'll see me with a
towel, play clothes (translation: those already
stained) or just
plain giving a disapproving look.
So, when she wants tea, she knows
where to go. She knows I will not
give in. One morning I
brewed some for ice tea. I drank half of
it and sat the remainder smack dab in
the middle of the island. She wanted some,
I said no, and I left it there the rest of
the morning. Better to not drink it myself than
to have to tell her no, that she cannot drink
from my cup. I accidentally left
the bathroom door open and she got the
tooth brushing stool - mind you, this was
2-3 hours later - and remembering tea as
a distinct possibility, used the stool to reach the tea.
This was the result:

Mess-C, as she says!

Oxy-Clean is my friend!

Making Soup

Royanne really likes to get involved in
the kitchen activities.
I must admit I am not as eager as her dad
to allow her to do so. I am always standing
nearby with a towel, broom, dustpan.......
Those of you who know me know this
to be true! I detest stains!

Bruce was mixing several kinds of beans together,
and Ro was adding in the white navy beans. We make
a good pork roast one night, and then use the
leftovers in soup. I love beans
and so does Ro-annie!

Here Royanne is
adding in a 13 bean mixture. Bruce is always
wondering why beans come all mixed
together: some cook quickly and some take a
real long time, comparatively.
So, do you over or under cook?
Sometimes we separate them out.
Some people have stain hangups, some beans!

Adding water for the soaking process.

Salt was measured into her hand; free reign
was not granted!

She thought she was really adding a lot of
pepper from the grinder. How much longer
can we fool her, I wonder?

Echo Valley: HEB Foundation Campgrounds

Mimi caught me in a grand mood one day and
when she asked if Royanne and I were going
to the church family retreat, I said yes!
WHEW!
Why didn't someone tell me I wouldn't sleep
and I would fall down in the river twice
and slip on wet concrete once and twist my
back and ankle?
Other than that, it was a great time!
I had been talking to Annie about it for weeks,
even though she didn't know what in the
world I was saying, and when we got there,
I told her this was what I had been
telling her about.

The first thing Abby and Liam wanted to do was
to wade in the river, so we threw our stuff in the
cabin door and went to the river. Abby did not
want to pose, she wanted to GO!

Excellent picture op!

Ditto.

Mimi was called away as we walked down the
road. She was given the nurse 2 way radio
because Tammy had to accompany Cookie to
the hospital. (Seems like falling was the thing
to do that weekend).
While she got details and instructions, the kids
played in a pavilion and ran up and down the
seats. They posed at the top.

Royanne loved being free and being
able to run without having to stop
for cars or anything!

The kids showed me why this is called
ECHO VALLEY. When you stand under
the overhang, you can really hear your
echos. Royanne didn't know what an echo
was, but when we walked back, she
pointed over there and said "echo!"

Looking for fish. He said he saw tadpoles.

Splashing!

Mr. Drama.

A place to rest.

Splashing!

These water shoes were perfect! Royanne
didn't slip once, not even once!
Mine?..... not so good!!!

Running from the car. Like I said,
Mr. Drama!

Liam and his imagination!

Splashing!

Sand pile fun! I think she wanted to
taste it!

The supplies the 5 of us thought we needed!
Warm clothes in case it got cold, extra towels,
blankets.......

This is why we had to rent a bigger car!

Royanne laughing as Liam watched her during
cabin clean-up. Maybe next year she won't
have to be contained in the stroller.

Such a poser!

The ride home. NO ONE SLEPT!!

Liam grabbed Royanne's cup and started
spitting water through the gap in his teeth.
She learned well and now she likes to
spit water!

So UNlady-like!
